DESCRIPTION:90-Minutes to Change the Future \nYOU HAVE REAL POWER\, for 90 minutes\, on 1 night\, every 2 years to change Minnesota’s political future. \nUnlike most states\, in Minnesota\, all you have to do is walk in the door and share 90 minutes with family\, friends & neighbors who usually share your polling place and now want to influence the same political party that you do. \nRule #1 is VICTORY GOES TO THOSE WHO SHOW UP! \nCaucus Night. Tuesday\, February 1st 2022 at 7 pm. \nAll major political parties in Minnesota must hold “Caucus” meetings every two years for every neighborhood voting district or “precinct” at 7 pm. Yours will be close to where you live.  \nYOU get to pick the people who will run the party for the next two years. These people will pick (endorse) the candidates who will get party campaign money and pick the issues the party will address. \nYOU can ask to be one of those people (a “delegate”) if you want to.  \nYOU get to pick … if you show up\, are eligible to vote in November 2022 and are likely to support candidates from the party running the meeting you are attending.  \nYOU don’t have to worry about anything else because one of your neighbors will host and run your meeting. They explain what is going on so you can be at ease … and even have some fun! A typical precinct caucus will have about a dozen family\, friends and neighbors. \nHow important are YOU on Caucus Night? \nOn Caucus Night you are 1 of about 12 people electing delegates and voting on issues. Throughout your county or legislative district about 250 delegates will be elected to make party decisions. You and your friends can each become 1 of about 250 delegate decision-makers. This is REAL POWER! \nAt party later conventions about the state\, 15\,000 delegates will make decisions about state and federal races. \nIn the fall general election about 3\,500\,00 voters will participate in the general election. \nFebruary 1st Caucus Night is where you have the greatest power to affect all that follows! \nFind your nearby “Caucus” meeting HERE by entering your address and selecting the Party name. \nMore details are available HERE from the Secretary of State’s Office.  \nIf you have interest in a particular candidate for any office being endorsed\, contact that candidate’s campaign. Let them know you will be at Caucus Night and willing to support them. You may coordinate with others to elect each other as delegates. Some campaigns may coordinate supporters to elect one another. \nIf you have a policy position for the party to adopt (a resolution)\, you can write it down and have it voted on at your caucus meeting. Those adopted advance to other conventions for wider discussion.  \n
